5 Leadership Books To Read In September 2025
Peter Scazzero has played a big part in our church’s growth. His books have brought people together and stretched their mindsets. Now, I want to introduce you to Scazzero.
In The Emotionally Healthy Leader, Scazzero helps readers understand how to deepen their relationship with Christ. It’s a guide on how to transform your life and become spiritually and emotionally healthy.
What he teaches in this book is transformative. You won’t be the same once you put the book down. More importantly, you won’t want to be.
Managing people isn’t easy. They will want to do what they want to do. It’s your job to help them to understand what the right steps are.
In their book The Way Of The Shepherd, William Pentak and Dr. Kevin Leman share their experiences in interviewing Ted McBride, a well-respected CEO. They share their takeaways from the interview and break them down into easy-to-apply lessons.
As a Christian, does your leadership approach look different than the world’s? Do you think it should?
A.W. Tozer challenges readers that if they claim to be Christians, their approach to leadership should be different. Noticably so.
Tozer brings readers to the realization that their leadership style shouldn’t look like the world. Rather, they should be imitating the greatest leader of all: Jesus Christ. He’ll help you understand how to imitate Christ in your leadership.
4. Managing Leadership Anxiety: Yours and Theirs by Steve Cuss:
Anxiety is no joke. Especially when you’re a leader. Anxiety can cripple you. It can make you ineffective.
We don’t want that. We can’t accept it.
That’s why you need a book like Managing Leadership Anxiety.
Steve Cuss does a great job of helping readers recognize and manage their own anxiety. But he takes it a step further. He helps leaders understand how to recognize and manage the anxiety of the people they lead.
5. Leading with Significance: How to Create a Magnetic, People-First Culture by Joey Havens:
What does it take to lead with significance? What does a life of significance even mean?

Not only will he help you understand how to lead with significance, he’ll help you transform your culture. He will help you understand how to put your people first.
There’s six things you’ll take away from this book:
